Not long ago, I attended a concert by Guy Penrod (of Gaither Vocal Band fame) at Victory International Fellowship in Brookfield, Wisconsin.
I have very eclectic musical tastes and they tend to be all over the map. The Gaither Vocal Band is one of my favorites, and I had previously enjoyed hearing Guy at Christ Church in Nashville (Brentwood), Tennessee.
I have attended performances by Three Bridges, Brad Stine, Greg Wilson and others at Victory. It is one thing hearing an artist in a large venue like Christ Church, but it quite another experience hearing someone you enjoy in a more intimate venue like Victory International Fellowship.
Attending a concert at Victory is more like inviting someone into your home or living room. There isn’t a bad seat in the house and it’s more up close and personal. The staging is perfect, and the sound is great. The seats are comfortable and the people are friendly.
So, why am I sharing this with you? Because, if you ever have an opportunity to attend a concert at Victory International Fellowship in Brookfield, Wisconsin, I suggest you do it. It will be a fine experience and a welcome break from the same ol’ same ol’.
The next opportunity for such an event is Wednesday, March 15th at 7pm. The Evangel University Sinfonia from Springfield, Missouri will perform a concert entitled “The Father’s Love”. For more information, go to: http://vifonline.org/EUSinfonia
